Overview
A design-build construction firm serving the Greater Fort Wayne, IN area is growing its commercial/industrial division and seeking a Superintendent to lead union jobsite operations. This role is central to ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality while keeping clients satisfied.
What you'll do
- Lead site coordination, layout, access, and logistics to optimize safety and productivity while keeping all trades organized and the site clean
- Proactively resolve site-level conflicts and constraints, ensure work meets project specifications, and drive corrective action through quality inspections and punch list walks
- Maintain and communicate the look-ahead schedule, identify and mitigate schedule risks, and coordinate subcontractor readiness
- Monitor labor, equipment, and material usage against budget, and flag scope changes or cost impacts to project management
- Enforce site-wide safety compliance through daily inspections, toolbox talks, and safety training; lead incident response, documentation, and reporting
- Represent the company professionally in client interactions, OAC meetings, and site walkthroughs, ensuring transparency, responsiveness, and client satisfaction
- Lead the team through clear communication, motivation, sound judgment, accountability, and active listening, supporting all team members as needed
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of commercial/industrial construction experience
- Experience as lead superintendent on projects valued at $3M+
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Ability to read, understand, and execute construction work as defined in drawings, specifications, addenda, submittals, technical manuals, and product/material installation instructions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods)
- Ability to implement and follow company policies, procedures, and standards
- Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills
- Comfort working within an EOS-driven organization
Preferred qualifications
- Procore experience desired but not required
Compensation and benefits
- Pay rate: $38–$45/hr (approximately $38,000–$45,000 on an annualized basis)
