Overview

An established structural engineering firm is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer/Designer to lead structural design efforts across a broad range of project types. This role is central to delivering high-quality, code-compliant structural solutions while mentoring junior staff and coordinating closely with clients, architects, and contractors.

What you'll do

• Design structural systems for manufacturing, distribution, data center, commercial, self-storage, church, historical, public sector, retail, adaptive reuse, and renovation projects, including existing facility analysis
• Interact with clients and attend meetings with clients, architects, and contractors; review structural documentation
• Manage, supervise, and mentor junior staff
• Prepare design calculations and manage preparation of construction documents
• Review shop drawings and submittals, perform site reviews, and prepare RFI responses
• Coordinate information across all disciplines to ensure deliverables meet client expectations and quality standards
• Apply experience in wood, steel, load-bearing light gage steel, concrete, post-tensioned concrete, and masonry design for low to mid-rise structures
• Design shallow and deep foundation systems
• Identify and apply applicable codes for project-specific jurisdictions
• Manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines in a fast-paced team environment
• Demonstrate project management ability and team leadership

Required qualifications

• 10 plus years minimum experience in structural engineering
• Professional license required
• Seismic experience required
• Experience with shallow and deep foundation system design
• Experience with wood, steel, load-bearing light gage steel, concrete, post-tensioned concrete, and masonry design in low to mid-rise structures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Project management experience/ability
• Team leadership ability
• Self-starter attitude with willingness to listen, learn, and improve
• Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, EnerCalc, and Adapt

Preferred qualifications

• Working knowledge of Revit is preferred
