Senior Project Manager (Sewer Pipelines)

Overview
A heavy civil construction firm is seeking a Senior Project Manager to take ownership of large-scale underground utility and deep sewer pipeline projects. This is a high-autonomy leadership role for someone who can run complex jobs, lead teams, and protect margins without hand-holding, treating each project as their own.
What you'll do
- Lead and deliver heavy civil projects ranging from $10M–$100M+
- Manage and mentor teams of 10+ staff
- Oversee preconstruction, estimates, and execution strategy
- Run multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule and cost control
- Own project financials, forecasting, and profitability
- Negotiate contracts and manage change orders
- Build relationships with owners, municipalities, and agencies
- Identify risks early and solve problems quickly
- Support repeat business and client growth
- Drive jobsite safety and accountability
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 15+ years of heavy civil construction experience
- Strong background in deep sewer pipelines / underground utilities
- 10+ years managing complex projects
- Proven ability to deliver profitable projects
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Ability to perform under pressure and drive results
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
- Must have U.S. heavy civil construction experience
- Ability to work in an office and active jobsite environment, including outdoor work in varying conditions
- PPE required at all times on site
- Ability to walk jobsites for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in active construction environments
