Overview
A prominent regional healthcare system is seeking an experienced CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join its inpatient critical care services division on the night shift. This hospital-based role offers a supportive environment with strong nurse-to-patient ratios, robust administrative backing, and a collaborative clinical culture, based in a scenic Montana community known for its quality of life and outdoor recreation.
What you'll do
- Provide high-quality, direct clinical care to medical, surgical, and cardiovascular patients requiring advanced physiological monitoring from admission through discharge
- Manage and operate advanced cardiac and life-support equipment, including mechanical ventilators, central lines, arterial lines, multiple titration IV pumps, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Monitor and manage patients utilizing advanced cardiac assist devices, such as intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) and Impella pumps
- Serve as a clinical leader on the floor, providing direction and collaborative support to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and ancillary hospital staff
- Collaborate closely with Providers, Charge Nurses, and nurse leadership to implement evidence-based care plans and thorough discharge planning
- Maintain meticulous, timely electronic documentation of patient status, interventions, and clinical outcomes
Required qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Montana (or immediate compact/endorsement eligibility)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required; must complete PALS courses within 6 months of hire
- Proven post-graduate clinical practice in an advanced Medical/Surgical unit coupled with recent Critical Care/ICU nursing experience specifically involving cardiovascular surgery patients
- Advanced nursing principles and procedures, proficiency with basic office equipment, use of multiple IV pumps, and ability to operate advanced medical equipment
Preferred qualifications
- EPNC and TNCC certifications preferred; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) also noted as preferred
- 1 to 2 years of dedicated Cardiac Surgical ICU experience strongly preferred
- Hands-on clinical familiarity with Impella pumps, cardiac balloon pumps, and CRRT equipment preferred
Compensation and benefits
- Compensation range of $115k - $125k
- $25,000.00 Retention Bonus to support transition and long-term commitment (available for external candidates only)
