Overview

A respected law firm with a well-established Insurance Coverage practice is seeking a Property Coverage Attorney to join its growing team. This role offers the chance to work on sophisticated property insurance matters for high-profile clients, handling complex coverage analysis, litigation, and dispute resolution in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

  • Analyze insurance policies and claim materials, draft coverage opinions, and provide strategic recommendations to clients
  • Prepare correspondence and communications for clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel
  • Review and analyze documents in connection with coverage disputes and litigation
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using platforms such as Westlaw
  • Draft and respond to written discovery, pleadings, and dispositive motions
  • Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings and mediations
  • Advocate for clients in dispute resolution proceedings and support case strategy through all phases of litigation

Required qualifications

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
  • Active Bar Admission in applicable jurisdiction, in good standing
  • 3+ years of substantive experience in insurance coverage matters (experienced litigators interested in insurance coverage considered)
  • Experience handling property insurance coverage issues, including policy analysis and claims evaluation
  • Strong background in legal research, writing, and drafting, with demonstrated analytical rigor
  • Experience preparing coverage opinions, pleadings, briefs, and discovery materials
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive and highly confidential matters with professionalism and discretion
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple matters simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients

Preferred qualifications

  • Prior litigation experience, including depositions, hearings, and mediations, preferred

Compensation and benefits

  • Associate: $160,000 – $190,000
  • Senior Associate: $185,000 – $225,000
  • Senior Counsel: $220,000 – $260,000
  • Compensation commensurate with experience, skill set, and level of hire
