Overview
A progressive community healthcare system is seeking a Polysomnography Tech or Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join its Sleep Disorders Center. The role is central to delivering high-quality diagnostic sleep testing and patient care as part of a growing department.
What you'll do
- Deliver patient care and diagnostic testing according to professional practice standards while supporting the healthcare system's divisions
- Perform transformation, administration, and distribution of diagnostic tests including PSG, MSLT, and CPAP
- Accurately analyze procedure results to score information for physician interpretation
- Participate in quality analysis of test results alongside other technicians
- Acknowledge charges for billing purposes
- Apply, remove, and complete all tests and associated equipment
- Work independently to perform high-quality PSG and other studies
- Maintain equipment in proper working order, perform routine maintenance, detect malfunctions, make minor repairs, and report problems to management
- Select the appropriate recording montage(s) necessary for each case under study
- Obtain high-quality recordings, recognizing and eliminating artifacts
- Assess physical and mental status before, during, and after test completion, notifying appropriate personnel to ensure continuity of care
- Operate all equipment in an optimal manner
- Remain attentive to patient needs to meet customer expectations
- Identify and complete additional projects as assigned by management
- Join a team of 9 other Polysomnography Techs in a growing department
Required qualifications
- Registered Polysomnograph Technologist or RRT (no CRTs will be considered)
- RRT candidates must be Ohio Licensed
- Must hold BRPT or RPSGT certification
- One-year experience in a sleep center or respiratory therapy
- BLS certification required
- Ability to read, write, and explain or describe moderately complex information to other hospital staff and patients
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to work night shift, 7pm-7:30am
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays in rotation
Compensation and benefits
- Hourly range of $28.75hr-$38.75hr depending on experience
