Overview

A leading management-side labor and employment law firm is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Associate Attorney for its Los Angeles office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced associate to work on sophisticated employment matters for a diverse client base, including complex wage and hour, PAGA, and class action litigation, with meaningful responsibility, client interaction, and collaboration within a high-performing employment law team.

What you'll do

  • Represent employers in wage and hour, PAGA, and class action litigation matters
  • Handle a wide range of labor and employment litigation matters, from inception through resolution
  • Advise clients on compliance with evolving California and federal employment laws
  • Draft motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation filings
  • Participate in discovery, including depositions, document review, and preparation of discovery responses
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, pleadings, and settlement documentation
  • Represent clients in disputes involving non-compete and non-solicitation agreements
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategic, practical solutions tailored to client needs

Required qualifications

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
  • Active Bar Admission in California, in good standing
  • 3-6 years of substantive labor and employment law experience
  • Significant experience handling wage and hour, PAGA, and class action matters, including matters in state and federal courts
  • Strong background advising employers on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Arbitration, mediation, or trial experience is required
  • Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage matters independently while collaborating effectively within team-based environments

Preferred qualifications

  • Prior large or sophisticated law firm experience preferred
