Overview

An established machining job shop is seeking a hands-on CNC Programmer/Technician to create and modify CNC programs using CAD/CAM software, translate technical drawings into precision parts, and keep production running efficiently across a range of materials and part complexities.

What you'll do

  • Create and modify CNC programs utilizing CAD/CAM software
  • Review and work with detailed technical drawings
  • Program, inspect, set up, and operate CNC machinery as required
  • Define and implement correct work holding solutions
  • Define and implement correct tooling solutions along with proper feeds and speeds
  • Take a 3D model and translate it into CAD/CAM software to run production
  • Put together setup and work instructions for machining parts
  • Design work holding and specify correct tooling for parts machining

Required qualifications

  • 100% hands-on approach and driven to succeed through perseverance and determination
  • Strong CNC experience working within a job shop, able to hit the ground running
  • Proficient in CNC Programming
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM packages
  • Proficient with CNC Lathe and CNC Mill machining best practices
  • 10+ years of proven successful performance and relevant machining experience with complex machining of a wide range of materials
  • Experience in a machining environment
  • Proficient in putting together setup and work instructions for machining parts
  • Proficiency with measurement equipment (calipers, mics, depth gauges, bore gauges, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret Technical Drawings, especially GD&T
  • Strong attention to detail and precision work habits
  • Strong problem-solving skills and root cause analysis
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to design work holding and specify correct tooling for parts machining

Preferred qualifications

  • Fusion 360 experience preferred
  • HAAS equipment or Fanuc Controls experience a plus

Compensation and benefits

  • Salary range of $60,000-$85,000
