Overview

A community-based feeding clinic is seeking a dedicated Feeding Clinic Specialist to provide evaluations, treatment interventions, and care planning for families, children, and adults receiving feeding clinic services. This role is central to supporting swallow safety and skill development within a collaborative, supportive team environment.

What you'll do

• Utilize necessary protocols such as intake forms, report templates, billing processes, release of information forms, and consent for evaluation forms
• Provide therapy to help clients achieve feeding goals
• Ensure assessments, evaluations, and suggested interventions are based on family-centered principles, respectful of cultural and ethnic background, and use a strength-based approach
• Utilize all feeding clinic equipment with priority on safety, health, and sanitation policies and procedures
• Provide assessment, intervention, and swallow/feeding modalities within the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) scope of practice and professional ASHA code of ethics
• Ensure therapeutic interventions implemented align with current evidence-based and practice-based information
• Complete clinical notes, billing records, and reports according to agency procedures
• Maintain effective working relationships with allied agencies and services related to the feeding clinic
• Provide documentation to meet all state and federal regulatory requirements
• Maintain records of clinic utilization
• Maintain timely submission of required documentation necessary for billing
• Submit all paperwork in a timely and efficient manner

Required qualifications

• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Kansas
• Active ASHA Certification
• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Kansas Department of Health and Environment licensure in Speech-Language Pathology in good standing
• Documentation of a master's-level college course in dysphagia via official transcript, or subsequent training or certifications
• Comprehensive knowledge of feeding development across the lifespan
• Organizational ability to develop and support clinic activities
• Ability to communicate effectively with families, patients, and staff
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Willingness to learn and apply new information (mentoring is available)
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Ability to work full-time, or a minimum of 32 hours if not full-time
• Valid Kansas Driver's License, maintained throughout employment
• Good character with the mental and physical ability to conduct oneself responsibly in carrying out job duties
