Location: Wytheville, VA | Schedule: Full-time, on-site | Compensation: Competitive salary (average ~$125,000-$150,000/year DOE) + Bonus

Overview

A national leader in the custom home building industry is seeking a General Operations Manager to oversee branch operations, sales, and production in Wytheville, VA. This role is central to driving growth, managing client and staff relationships, and ensuring smooth execution across multiple simultaneous home-building projects.

What you'll do

• Review new leads with the sales team
• Review advertising and approve budget
• Provide weekly updates to the Division President
• Review sales pipeline, contracts, starts, warranty, and settlements
• Review projections and challenges with managers and corporate leadership
• Conduct job inspections when necessary
• Lead final review meetings and plan reviews
• Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and supervise employees, subcontractors, and vendors
• Leverage networking expertise to build industry relationships
• Negotiate contracts and hire subcontractors and suppliers
• Review overhead costs and general P&L
• Address customer concerns and communicate resolutions

Required qualifications

• Strong knowledge of custom residential construction
• Familiarity with production building (managing multiple homes simultaneously)
• Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills
• Servant-leader management style with strong leadership abilities
• Positive, energetic approach to driving production and sales processes and growing the team

Preferred qualifications

• Preferably from or familiar with the Wytheville / Tri-Cities area
• Knowledge of local vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to acclimate quickly to operations

Compensation and benefits

• Competitive salary (average ~$125,000-$150,000/year DOE) plus bonuses
