Overview

A premier health organization is seeking a compassionate and skilled Polysomnography Technologist to join its state-of-the-art Sleep Disorder Center. This direct hire role involves performing overnight sleep studies to help diagnose sleep disorders, offering a chance to make a direct impact on patient health outcomes within a collaborative clinical setting.

What you'll do

• Collect and assess medical, emotional, and social history relevant to testing
• Educate patients on testing procedures before, during, and after the study
• Prepare, calibrate, and apply sensors and electrodes to ensure accurate data capture
• Fit PAP masks and perform mask troubleshooting
• Administer a range of tests (PSG, MSLT, MWT, PAP titrations, oxygen studies)
• Monitor and adjust equipment for clean, artifact-free signal acquisition
• Record clinical events, behavior, and any protocol deviations
• Deliver age-appropriate care for patients across all life stages
• Score sleep stages and clinical events following standardized guidelines
• Generate precise, actionable reports for physician interpretation
• Maintain and calibrate sleep study equipment
• Follow safety and infection control procedures (Exposure Category I)
• Support quality assurance and performance improvement activities
• Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and team members

Required qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Polysomnography, Respiratory Therapy, or Nursing
• Must be eligible for or hold RPSGT certification (within 18 months of hire)
• Valid NYS license: Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Technician, or Polysomnographic Technologist
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
• Regularly required to stand, reach, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs
• Must have clear vision, hearing, and manual dexterity for technical tasks

• ACLS preferred

• Salary range: $61,360 – $80,030 annually ($29.50–$38.48/hour)
