Overview
A 4-star rated skilled nursing facility in Waverly, NY is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join its multi-disciplinary therapy team. This Direct Hire role offers the chance to improve communication, cognition, and quality of life for residents while growing your clinical career in a supportive, well-equipped setting. Both permanent and traveling candidates will be considered.
What you'll do
- Evaluate residents and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide therapy addressing speech, language, voice, and swallowing impairments
- Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and rehab staff to deliver quality care
- Document evaluations, progress, and discharge plans in accordance with guidelines
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and family communication
- Conduct and coordinate audiometric screenings and make appropriate referrals
- Help train facility staff and contribute to in-service education efforts
- Follow all safety and compliance policies with professionalism and compassion
Required qualifications
- M.A. or M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current NYS license (or eligibility) to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Excellent verbal/written communication and a strong team-oriented mindset
- Dedication to resident-centered care and high-quality service
Preferred qualifications
- ASHA CCC preferred
